The kids were awarded these "gold" medals in reading from their school yesterday. Each year their school runs a Read-a-thon where for about 3 weeks the kids are asked to read as many books as they can and log each one. These are then tallied up and different prizes are awarded. Ethan read 336 books and Naomi read 354!!! Naomi read the most books in her class! We are soo proud of both of them. Although, some of the 300+ books were ones we read to them and others were ones their teachers read, probably 1/2 of them were books they read independently. Ethan has been reading independently for a long time, but not until just recently has Naomi's reading really taken off and now she is reading everything! It's so sweet to see how proud she is of herself!
